How kissa curates

kissa is a one-person guide to Tokyo's cafés. Every entry is hand-picked — being in the guide is the recommendation. There are no scores and no paid placements; a café can't buy its way in.

Each entry carries an honest label. researched means it was written from the café's own website, social channels and other primary sources — carefully, but from a distance. ✓ verified means I've been there myself: attributes checked at the table, photos taken on site. From January 2027 I'm in Tokyo, and researched entries get verified week by week.

Attributes like cash only, smoking or laptop policy show "unknown" when sources don't say — the guide never guesses.

Hearts (♥) come from readers. They show what people love; they never change what's in the guide or its order.
